The dough for these cookies is kneaded from ground flakes. If you happen to have a supply of whole oatmeal, then this can be easily fixed. Using a blender, lightly grind them. And even if you are not the proud owner of a blender, an ordinary rolling pin will save the situation. Pour the cereal into a durable plastic bag and go over it with a rolling pin several times. Mix oatmeal with sugar.


The butter (or margarine) should be melted. It is better to use butter, especially if the cookies are for children, but margarine is not so critical. Add butter to oatmeal-sugar mixture.


Beat one egg into the bowl with the ingredients and then thoroughly mix all the ingredients with your hands.


After about two minutes of intensive kneading, the mass will acquire a consistency that can hold its shape.


Place the resulting balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment, keeping a large distance between them.


Then press the balls on top with a fork, forming flat cookies.


Place the baking sheet with oatmeal cookies in a preheated oven and bake it on the middle rack for 25 minutes at 180 degrees.

Let the finished cookies cool. Then remove it from the parchment. If the cookies stick (and this is possible due to the large amount of sugar in the dough), then you should moisten the parchment from the inside with water using a pastry brush. After this, after a minute, the cookies will be easily removed from the paper.

How to make oatmeal cookies

Remove butter or margarine from the refrigerator in advance so that it becomes soft, pliable and easy to mix with other foods. Grind the butter with granulated sugar.


Add eggs, stir.


Add oatmeal and stir.


Add baking powder or slaked soda and flour.


Cover the bowl with cling film and refrigerate for one hour. The flakes will swell and become softer, and the dough will stick to your hands less.


Line a baking tray with baking paper or grease butter. Wet your hands with water and form cakes with a diameter of 5 cm. Place on a baking sheet at a short distance from each other. The cookies will almost double in size.

Anyone who doesn't like oatmeal in the morning, but finds it healthy and gives energy, will appreciate oatmeal cookies. And you can give it to children to school as a snack, because it contains everything they need. In this recipe we will prepare cookies from oatmeal with the addition of raisins and sesame seeds. Instead of sesame, you can add crushed walnuts, peanuts or poppy seeds if you wish. And it’s possible to do it all together! If you like a more spicy taste, add crushed cloves and cardamom, nutmeg or a little ground ginger. Each time you can experiment with a new taste. These are not just oatmeal cookies, but a work of culinary art.

  • 1 tbsp. l. thick honey
  • 1 small egg;
  • 1 cup oatmeal;
  • 0.5 cups flour;
  • a large handful of raisins;

  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon (without a slide).

How to make oatmeal cookies with sesame seeds and raisins

While the oven preheats to 180 degrees, grind the butter with sugar and honey.
Beat in a small egg and mix until a more or less homogeneous mass is obtained.


Then add oatmeal. For this recipe, we used Nordic oatmeal, which has very fine flakes, so the cookies are more uniform and tender. If the oatmeal is large, then you need to let the dough stand for about 15 minutes so that the oatmeal softens a little, and then put it in the oven. After all, in addition to oatmeal, we will add additional solid ingredients. Mix lightly, add flour, sesame seeds, cinnamon, raisins. Now you can knead the dough with your hands. It is not sticky, but very soft and light. It's a pleasure to work with him!


From the resulting dough we form approximately 10-12 cookies. I roll the circles and squeeze them lightly with my palms, and they look like flat cakes. Place our oatmeal cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment and place in the oven in the middle position.


Oven time can vary from 20 to 30 minutes. Don't forget to take a look! We take out the rosy cookies and wait for them to cool. It is good to serve them with milk, tea or jelly.
