    It is more convenient to prepare this dish in a cauldron or a spacious pan with a thick, heavy bottom in which you can fry foods. Pour in the oil, heat it up and pour in the onion cut into half rings.




    Stirring, fry it until a light golden hue appears on the edges. At the same time, keeping an eye on the onions, grate a large carrot or three or two medium carrots on a coarse grater. As soon as the onion is fried, add grated carrots to it and mix. Without reducing the heat, fry it for about five minutes until the oil turns orange. Recently I found a very interesting recipe stewed cabbage, but it is completely different from all the previous ones. Prepare.




    Cut fresh tomatoes in half and remove any remaining stems. Grind with a blender, meat grinder or three on a coarse grater to obtain an almost homogeneous puree.






    Pour it out tomato puree to the fried vegetables, mix and fry a little to improve the taste. If fresh tomatoes no, let's replace them with canned ones, add them along with the juice, just mashing them with a fork. Ready-made sauce is also suitable, but the pasta needs to be diluted with water.




    Cut the sweet bell pepper into pieces, chop the hot pepper finely and add to the vegetables. Shred the cabbage into strips, like for borscht, and place it after the pepper. Mix everything, add salt, simmer covered for 30 minutes. Leave the fire under the pan low.




    Wash the rice cereal and add it to the stewed cabbage. Mix. Pour in a glass of water, cover and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the rice is soft.
